Dear Axe family, I just came from the memorial service for Skip and am enjoying so many bittersweet memories of this great saint. I was one of the Mount Zion youth group kids who really had no interest or skill in sports, but Skip was truly kind to the jocks and non-jocks alike! And honestly, I wasn't particularly interested in church at that point in my life, either, but Skip and Chris were so genuine, and I knew that what they had with God was real. Their example helped keep me from writing off a life of faith and allowed me to embrace God down the road (after some dumb choices). Thanks for your willingness to share this man with the rest of the world! You guys will continue to be in my prayers as you deal with this loss.
