Vincent "Skip" Axe, 69, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.

He was born in Lancaster to the late Herbert L. and Catherine P. (Ruth) Axe and was the husband of Christine Anne (Smith) Axe.

Skip was an active member of Lancaster Evangelical Free Church, where he served as a youth advisor, youth Sunday school teacher and an elder. He had also served as a youth advisor and administrator at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Akron.

He worked for the US Postal Service in Akron, before retiring. He then worked part time for many years at Stradling Funeral Homes as the property manager. Skip enjoyed coaching his grandchildren's sports with his son Ryan. He also coached basketball at the high school level at Ephrata and Cocalico.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Ryan Jeffrey, husband of Jennifer Leigh (Werner) Axe of Landisville and 3 grandchildren, Konnor, Brynn and Caden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kurt Axe.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 1 PM, at the Lancaster Evangelical Free Church, 419 Pierson Rd., Lititz, with Pastor Tony Hunt officiating. Family will receive family and friends following the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Mt. Zion Evangelical Cemetery, Akron.
