Message: Most people probably don't know that Florence and I met in our Senior year at Lancaster Catholic High School. Florence had just moved here with her Parents, brother Harry, and sisters, Mary, Anne, Joan and Emily and being the quiet and shy girl that she was, I know it was a difficult time for her. We were in the same homeroom and we hit it off right away. Florence unfortunately was not asked to the Senior Prom but Harry and his date double-dated with myself and my date (whose name I have forgotten). As I remember, we had a nice time. After graduation (which was 51 1/2 years ago!), I started working right away and got married the next year and Florence was there for me as a bridesmaid. Several years later, Dick and Florence married and Meredith was born. I had the honor of being Meredith's Godmother. Florence and I didn't stay in constant contact through the years but we DID stay in touch at least once a year, probably a little more often. She is/was my longest/oldest friend and I will truly miss her. Florence and I didn't get to say goodbye but she knows I would have been there if things had ended differently. I will think of her fondly and lovingly always.
