Obituary for Florence M. Kametz

Florence M.  Kametz
Florence Kametz, 69, of Denver passed away with her son and daughter by her side, on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. She was the wife of the late Richard Kametz, who died in February 2013.

Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Wachter) Bambrick. She is survived by a daughter, Meredith Kametz of Denver, and a son, Brent, husband of Adrienne (Gemmell) Kametz; two grandchildren, Lydia and Penn; four sisters: Ann, wife of Harold Witmer of Lancaster and Kansas City; Mary, wife of Peter Rohrer of Lakewood, Colorado; Emily, wife of John Hertzler of Akron and Joan Shissler of Lancaster.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother Harry Bambrick of Lancaster who passed away in 2013.


Florence was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and Thompson College. She had worked in the office of Harold G. Herr, DDS and was a member of Ecuadent, a volunteer medical/dental group working with indigent children in Ecuador. She was retired from Ephrata Hospital. She was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she had served as an officer in Sodality, a representative to Church Women United, and taught CCD classes for many years.


Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, March 11, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, March 12, at 11 am, at Our Mother of Perpetual Help, 320 Church Ave, Ephrata, with Father Tom Siconolfi, C.SS.R. as celebrant. Final Commendation and Farewell with be private at the convenience of the family.
