Obituary for William L. Stauffer

William L. Stauffer, 87, formerly of Brownstown, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014, at Ephrata Manor.

He was born in Brownstown to the late Jacob and Mary (Wolf) Stauffer and was the husband of the late Jeanne M. (Browne) Stauffer for 62 years before her passing in 2009.

Bill was a member of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ephrata, a 13 year member of West Earl Lions Club and served in the US Navy aboard the USS Saturn in 1945 and 1946. He had worked as an Electrical Construction Supervisor with PPandL, an electrician for St. Joseph Hospital and was also a lineman for the Ephrata Borough. Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved his family. His family and many friends will always remember him as a loving, hard working man who never failed to lend a hand to those in need. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by 3 children, William L. Jr., husband of Sharon Carmel (Rill) Stauffer of Williamsburg, VA, Mary Elizabeth (Betsy), wife of Kenneth J. MacDonald of Brownstown, Robert H., husband of Vickie L. (Sensenig) Stauffer of Akron; 7 grandchildren, Sara Stauffer Stubbert, William Justin Stauffer, Kami Stauffer Boulter, Amy Elizabeth MacDonald-Mellish, Karen Elizabeth Przybylski, Christopher Robert Stauffer, and Jennifer Lynette Pulver; 9 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, Philip, husband of Gail (Eichelberger) Stauffer of Leola, Kenneth, husband of Louise (Ditzler) Stauffer of Harrisburg, James, husband of Carleen Stauffer of Anderson, SC; a sister, Mary Ann, wife of Robert Crockett of Boston, MA and a sister-in-law, Betsy Stauffer of Lititz.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jacob Stauffer and J. Thomas Stauffer.

A private graveside service will be held at the Trumbauer Memorial Cemetery, Leola.
