Obituary for Robert L. Cable

Robert L.  Cable
Robert L. Cable, 71, of Reinholds, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2014, at Reading Hospital.

He was born in Windber to the late Robert Earl and Evelyn Ruth (Kearney) Cable and was the husband of Faith (Vatter) Cable for 23 years.

He loved hunting, gardening,"the farm", and especially loved his family. He was an avid sports fan for all his grandchildren.

Robert graduated from Conemaugh Twp. High School. He then attended Cambria Rowe Business School where he received an Associates Degree in computer programming. Robert retired from GPU after 35 years of service.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by 3 sons, Christopher, husband of Michelle (Weit) Cable of Denver, PA, Timothy, husband of Mandy (Wilson) Cable of Akron, PA, and Mark, husband of Heather (Derr) Brooks of Dawsonville, GA; 2 daughters, Robyn Vedua of Kingsland, GA, and Tracy, wife of Jim Testerman of Lower Heidelburg, PA; 15 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Christian Brooks, and a son-in-law, Benjamin Vedua.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014, from 9 to 10 am at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver, where funeral services will follow at 10:00 am, with Pastor Terry Byrd officiating. Interment will take place in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Robert's memory may be made to any charity of your choice.
