Obituary for Robert J. Redcay

Robert J. Redcay, 53, of Ephrata, entered into rest at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, on Sunday, January 28, 2007, following a short illness.

He was born in Ephrata, the son of the late Elam and Dolores Givler Redcay. He was the husband of Debb Harple Redcay. They celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on October 11, 2006.

Bob was a graduate of Ephrata High School Class of 1971. He was employed for 20 years as a rural letter carrier for Ephrata, and was a member of the Rural Letter Carrier Union. In 2002, he was a founding board member of the Ephrata Area Little League and was also a member of the East Coast Tournament Baseball Assn. He was honored as Umpire of the Year in 2003. Bob was an avid NY Mets and Miami Dolphins fan.

He served four years in the United States Air Force, from 1971 to 1975.

Surviving in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Janel N., wife of Rodney Repass of Mount Joy, a son, Bo (Robert J. Redcay II), at home, a grandson, R. J. Repass, two sisters, Vickie, wife of Ralph Unruh of Denver, and Linda, wife of Richard Messner of Ephrata, and his puppy dog, Snoopy.

For a celebration of Bob's life, the family will receive family and friends on Saturday, February 3, 2007, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the The Eicher House, Ephrata Park, Cocalico Street, Ephrata.
