Harriette Annette Rose, 89, formerly of Hampton, VA, died at Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown on Friday, May 12, 2006, where she resided the last 18 months.
She was born in Annapolis, Maryland, a daughter of the late Leland and Elizabeth Leaque Talbot. She was the wife of the late Robert M. Rose who died in 1995.
She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Hampton, VA, and enjoyed playing scrabble and was an avid reader.
During World War II, she worked in defense for Martin Aircraft of Baltimore. Her family affectionately referred to her as Rosie the Riveter.
Surviving are two sons, Frank Rose of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Robert Rose of San Antonio, TX; two daughters, Roberta R., wife of Robert Conway of Ephrata and Gay Lee DeShazor of Newport News, VA; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Hampton, VA, on June 10th at 11 a.m. with burial in Park Lawn Cemtery, Hampton, VA.
