Obituary for Helen A. (Hartranft) Musser

Helen A. (Hartranft)  Musser
Helen A. (Hartranft) Musser, 79, of Denver, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital, having been ill since June.

She was born in Lancaster County to the late Lloyd and Emma (Sweigart) Hartranft and was the wife of Martin Musser, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.

Helen had been a member of Stone Hill Christian Holiness Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, trips out West, cruises to the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, and loved wildlife and spending time in the mountains.

She was a retired upholsterer for Kinder Manufacturing. Prior to that she worked for the Cinderella Knitting Mill.

In addition to her husband, Helen is survived by a son, Brian Lee Musser, husband of Lisa (Ackerman) of Denver, a daughter, Pamela Sue, wife of Hans Vinje of Ephrata; 2 step-grandchildren, William Riffe and Lorelei Riffe; 2 step-great-grandchildren, Ethan Riffe and Caleb Bridgman; 3 brothers, Clarence "Sonny" Hartranft of Reamstown, Fred (Darlene) Hartranft of Denver, and Jim (Arlene) Hartranft of Ephrata; 3 sisters, Beverly, wife of John Zartman of Newmanstown, Mary Jane, wife of the late Frank Garman, of Ephrata, and Ruth Hartranft of Allentown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd "Link" Hartranft, and a sister, Fern Pfautz.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, from 6 to 8 pm at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. An additional viewing will be held on Thursday, February 23, from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am, with Pastor Daniel Van Vleet officiating. Interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Helen's memory may be made to American Cancer Society-Lanc. Co. Unit, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA, 17603.
