Obituary for Sara E. Martin (Martin)

Sara E.  Martin (Martin)
Sara E. Martin, 37, of Lititz, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at her residence after a 5 year battle with brain cancer.

She was born in Lancaster to Earl and Barbara A. (Newswanger) Martin and was the wife of Dean E. Martin.

Sara was a member of Hammer Creek Mennonite Church, where she played the piano, was on the worship team and helped with Bible school. She was a graduate of Warwick High School and Alvernia College and played on various volleyball teams. She had worked at the Lancaster General Hospital as a physical therapist assistant. Sara loved her children and was very supportive of their sports and activities. Sara had a positive impact on those she met, was loved by all and her greatest desire was to see her loved ones in heaven.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by her 3 children, Connor D. Martin, Carlie E. Martin, Gretchen Ann Martin; paternal grandparents, Amos H. and Lydia Jane Martin; maternal grandparents, David H. and Madeline Newswanger; 3 siblings, Amy J., wife of John Martin, Andrew D., husband of Tawni L. Martin, Ryan E., husband of Kellye J. Martin and numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 14, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, at the Hammer Creek Mennonite Church, 590 Hammer Creek Road, Lititz . An additional viewing will be held on Monday, June 15, from 9 to 10 am, at the church, followed by her funeral services at 10 am, with Pastor Leonard Rutt officiating. Interment will be held in the Hammer Creek Mennonite Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to benefit Sara's children may be made to the Hammer Creek Mennonite Church, c/o Martin Children, 590 Hammer Creek Rd., Lititz, PA 17543.
