Condolence From: Joanne Bender
Condolence: Yvonne was my grandmother's hairdresser for many years. When grandma died in 2003, I called Yvonne and asked if she would do grandma's hair at the funeral home. She agreed without hesitation. I will always remember my phone conversation with Yvonne that day, and what a sweet lady she was for making my grandma beautiful one last time. Praying for your family during this difficult time.

Condolence: I am sorry for your loss.
I lived next door to Yvonne, on Main Street in Akron for about 12 years. Yvonne used to baby-sit for my brother Fred Brubaker and me. I do remember her playing the marimba, and she brought the marimba to my house, to play duets, with me playing the piano. Unfortunately, we could not play at the Studio in Lancaster, because that piano was out of tune with her marimba.
