Obituary for Clarence E. Carbaugh

Clarence E. Carbaugh, 89, of Ephrata, formerly of Souderton, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014, at Fairmount Homes.

He was born in Quakertown to the late Clarence D. and Alice F. (Walp) Carbaugh and was the husband of Arlene (Bleam) Carbaugh with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.

Clarence was a member of the Pine Grove Mennonite Church. He was in banking for 29 years with Univest of Souderton. He was in the US Army during WWII, serving in Italy for 27 months with the 5th Army. He was a member of the Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, and the American Legion in Souderton, and was a board member of Frederick Mennonite Community for 7 years. He was interested in coin collecting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Keith C., husband of Penny Carbaugh of Telford; Kevin A., husband of Stephanie Carbaugh of Lancaster; a daughter, Karen D., wife of Michael Scriniere of Souderton; 7 grandchildren, Nathan (Annie) Carbaugh, Joel (Jennifer) Carbaugh, Matthew (Michelle) Carbaugh, Jon (Wendy) Gross, Daniel (Jami) Gross, Linsey (Jon) Limm, Mia Carbaugh, and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, and one sister, and one great grandchild.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 12, at 2 p.m., at the Wheat Ridge Chapel at Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheatridge Dr., Ephrata. The family will receive friends following the service. An additional visitation will take place on Sunday, December 28, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Pine Grove Mennonite Church, 1194 Reading Rd., Bowmansville, followed by his memorial service at 3 p.m.
