Galen W. Rutt, 49, of Stevens, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday after a battle with lung cancer at Essa Flory Center, Hospice of Lancaster County.

Born in Ephrata, he was a son of Irene W. (Weber) Rutt and the late Eugene Rutt. He was the husband of Gladys (Martin) Rutt. They were married for 28 years.

He was a member of Faith Mennonite Fellowship Church and he enjoyed spending time with his family. He worked for 33 years at Martin Limestone.

Besides his wife, Galen is survived by two sons, Daniel E., husband of Sheila (Horst) Rutt of Denver and Nathan L. Rutt of Stevens, a daughter, Laura M., wife of Lyle E. Musser of Reinholds, two brothers, Dean Rutt and Gary Rutt, two sisters, Rosanne, wife of Larry Burkholder of Ephrata and Karen, wife of Ken Wanner of Denver, and 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Rutt and his brother, Wilmer Rutt.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the Faith Mennonite Fellowship Church, 335 North Line Road, Stevens with Bishop Earl R. Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held on 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Wednesday, May 2nd at the church.
