Lorraine S. Crowther, 79, of Denver, formerly of Ephrata, passed away, surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia.
She was born in Ephrata to the late Earl and Esther (Stauffer) Sweigart and was the wife of the late Barry L. Crowther who passed away in 2009.
Lorraine was a member of Swamp Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reinholds. She delivered the Lancaster Newspaper for over 20 years, was a member of the Ephrata Lions Club and the Red Hat Association. Lorraine loved her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and baking.
She is survived by a son, Michael A. Crowther; a foster daughter, Kim, wife of Nathan Weaver; 2 grandchildren, Tandi, wife of Anthony Kashner, Blain Crowther;
4 foster grandchildren, Josh, Paige, Dillon, and Cierra Weaver; 3 great-grandchildren, Makiah, Taryn and Lena; a sister, Evelyn Gehman and a brother, Mervin Sweigart.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Dane A. Crowther.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, from 6 to 8 pm, at Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata. An additional viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 28, from 10 to 11 am, at Swamp Evangelical Lutheran Church, 275 Swamp Church Road, Reinholds, followed by her funeral service at 11 am, with Pastor Dennis L. Trout officiating. Interment will take place in Swamp Cemetery.
