Juanita M. McDowell, 83, of Lititz, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017, at Manor Care in Lancaster.
She was born in Franklin to the late Robert and Laura (Hale) Rodgers and was the wife of Harry E. "Edwin" McDowell, Sr., with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.
She was a member of Grace Church in Ephrata, and enjoyed camping, crocheting, and traveling.
Juanita had worked as a knitter for Cinderella Knitting Mills, and later as a clerk for Martins Grocery.
In addition to her husband, Juanita is survived a son, Harry E. McDowell, Jr., husband of Anna of North Carolina; a daughter, Debra Lynne, wife of Robert Trostle of Denver; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen, wife of Bill Russell of Oil City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 9 siblings, Norm Rodgers, Grace Murry, Jerry Tarr, Shirley Vogus, Pat "Little" Rodgers, Ethel Rodgers, Donald Rodgers, Judy Rodgers, and Doris Jean Rodgers; and a step-brother, Robert Rodgers.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017, from 6 to 8 pm at the Grace Church, 62 Hahnstown Road, Ephrata. A second viewing will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017, from 10 to 11 am at the Grace Church, followed by funeral services, with Pastor Kim G. Robertson officiating. Interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
