William Larry Bensing, 84, formerly of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Susquehanna Valley Nursing Home, Columbia.
He was born in Denver to the late Ralph W. and Elizabeth G. (Firestone) Bensing.
Larry served in the US Army during the Korean War. During his working years, he worked as a merchandiser for Woolworth Company. He was a member of the Ephrata Blue Lodge #665 F. and A.M., Cloister Post #429 American Legion, Cocalico Valley Post # 3376 V.F.W.
He is survived by 3 sons, Gregory L, husband of Kim (Eckert) Bensing of Cortland, OH, Matthew L., husband of Jackie Bensing of Elderburg, MD, Gordie L. Bensing of Hamburg; 2 daughters, Tracey L., wife of John Little of Lampeter, Greta L., wife of Todd Ruth of Manheim; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017, from 12 to 1 pm, at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Avenue, Ephrata, followed by his funeral service at 1 pm. Interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery Annex.
