Ruth S. Bucher, 90, of Lititz, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016, at United Zion Retirement Community.

She was born in Ephrata to the late Bard E. and Esther B. (Stauffer) Kreider and was the wife of the late Paul C. Bucher.

Ruth was a member of the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, where she taught Sunday school in the children’s department and also served as a deaconess. She was a homemaker and helped her husband on their farm on Meadow Valley Rd., Lititz.

She is survived by a foster son, Mark E., husband of Diane Shepherd of Manheim; a foster grandson, Dustin M. Shepherd; 2 sisters, Verna Mae, wife of the late Jacob K. Hershey of Lititz and Mildred S., wife of the late Richard Zeimer of New Holland; and nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 10 to 11 am, at the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, 351 Middle Creek Church Rd., Lititz, followed by a memorial service at 11 am, with Pastors Paul Brubaker, Wilbur Rohrer and Ivan Lutz officiating. Interment will be private in the Middle Creek Brethren Cemetery.
