Shirley L. Becker, 85, of Lititz, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Maple Farm.

She was born in Lancaster to the late Walter and Kathryn (Peterman) Heiss and was the wife of Graybill Becker with whom she would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on November 28th.

She was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rothsville.

Shirley worked for the School District of Lancaster and later, in the office of Yerger Bros. in Lititz. She graduated from McCaskey High School and was a volunteer in Lititz for Meals on Wheels and at the election polls. She enjoyed baking and sharing holiday cookies - her family's favorites were her special sand tarts and mini chocolate-almond cheesecakes.

In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by 2 sisters, Janet Martin of Lancaster and Loris Harrison of Millersville as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a sister, June Firestone.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 PM at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 North Ninth Street, Akron followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM with Pastor Robert Lowden officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
