Obituary for Lewis F. Demler, Jr.

Lewis F.  Demler, Jr.
Lewis F. Demler, Jr., 73, of Denver, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016, at his residence.

He was born in Lebanon to the late Lewis F., Sr. and Arline Claire (Hertzog) Demler and was the devoted husband of Debra S. (Sedinger) Demler with whom he shared 29 years of marriage.

Lewis was an active member of the Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Denver, where he served on the church council and was head of the church IT group. He served 10 years in the US Air Force as a linguist and computer technician during the Vietnam War. He was last employed in information technology as a data base administrator for Bookspan, formerly Book-of-the-Month Club in Mechanicsburg. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, photography and working with computers. He and his wife enjoyed semi-annual vacations in Montana and visiting Yellowstone National Park.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 1 daughter, Roberta L. Demler of Columbia; 4 siblings, Frederick R., husband of Linda (Kass) Demler of Washington Crossing, Candace Rakow of Burlingame, CA, Cheryl A., wife of Donald Discuillo of Lebanon and Thomas, husband of Wynanne (Fortna) Demler of Lebanon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Wayne Demler.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 23, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. An additional viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 24, from 9 to 10 am, at the Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church, 357 Walnut Street, Denver, followed by his funeral service at 10 am, with Pastor Joseph Veres officiating. Interment will take place in the Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon.
