Roy S. Sweigart, 72, of Denver, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016, at Lancashire Hall.

He was born in Ephrata to the late Lloyd and Miriam (Stauffer) Sweigart and was the husband of Edith (Sauder) Sweigart with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

He was a member of Ephrata United Zion Church. Roy retired in 2009 as a truck driver after 25 years, during which he drove over 1 million miles. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and loved to work in his yard.

In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by 4 siblings Martha Bensinger of Lancaster, John, husband of Arlene Sweigart of Lebanon, Earl, husband of Anna Sweigart of Plain City, OH, June, wife of Eric Schwart of West Chester; a sister-in-law, Alma Sweigart of Myerstown; a brother in law, Melvin Deim of Shippensburg and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Sweigart; a daughter, Stephanie Sweigart; a brother, Wilmer Sweigart, and a sister, Grace Deim.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016, from 9 to 10 am at the Ephrata United Zion Church, 408 East Fulton Street, Ephrata, followed by a funeral service at 10 am, with Pastor Jay Showalter officiating. Interment will take place in the Hammer Creek Mennonite Cemetery.
