Obituary for Lillian W. Martin (Redcay)

Lillian W. Martin, 96, of Ephrata, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016, at Fairmount Homes.

She was born in East Earl Township to the late Martin M. and Elizabeth D. (Wenger) Redcay and was the wife of the late Elam G. Martin who passed away this past January.
When Lillian was 5 years old, her mother passed away and she was raised by the Isaac Nolt family.

Lillian was a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference). Lillian was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and babysitting.

She is survived by 2 sons, Alvin, husband of Shirley (Ristenbatt) Martin of New Holland, Leon R., husband of Sandra (Sweigart) Martin of Denver; 3 daughters, Elizabeth R., wife of Paul Keller of Womelsdorf, Mary R., wife of Irvin Weaver of Ephrata, Irene R., wife of Brian Witmer of Ephrata; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen (Miller) Martin of Willow Street; a sister-in-law, Mary Andes Redcay of Columbia.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 sons, Solomon R. as well as wife Mildred (Bauman) Martin, Raymond, and Mervin Martin; 1 great-grandchild; a son-in-law, Adam Horst; siblings, Elias W. Redcay, Elizabeth W. Redcay, Martin W. Redcay, Mary W. Redcay, Noah W. Redcay, Bertha W. Redcay, David W. Redcay, Magdalene W. Redcay, Pharias W. Redcay, Ephraim W. Redcay, John Jacob Redcay, Martha W. Redcay, Amanda W. Redcay, Isaac W. Redcay, Hettie W. Redcay, Mabel W. Redcay, Elmer W. Redcay, Raymond W. Redcay, Adam W. Redcay, Rufus W. Redcay and Elam W. Redcay.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 18, from 5 to 8 pm, at the Wheatridge Chapel of Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheatridge Dr., Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 19, at 9 am, at Wheatridge Chapel, with further services at 9:30 am, at the Martindale Mennonite Church (Frame), 905 Martindale Rd., Martindale. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Fairmount Homes and Hospice for loving care and concern show to our parents during their stay the last four years.
