Obituary for Naomi I. Redcay

Naomi I.  Redcay
Naomi I. Redcay, 89, formerly of Ephrata, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016, at Denver Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in West Lampeter Township, Lancaster County to the late Harry S. and Lizzie (Zimmerman) Diem and was the wife of the late Walter J. Redcay who passed away in 1988.

Naomi was a member of the Bergstrasse Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a waitress and hostess for area restaurants. She was a member of the Eastern Star Cloister Chapter No. 406 O.E.S. Naomi was a Phillies fan, loved Elvis, enjoyed playing bingo and going to the beach.

She is survived by a son, W. Bryan, husband of Brenda Redcay of Ephrata; a daughter, Lisa M., wife of Jeffrey Stover of Denver; 5 grandchildren, Brianna, Kayla, Blake, Brandon and Brooke; a great-granddaughter, Savannah and a sister, Elizabeth Strausse of Lititz.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley A. Sweigart; 4 siblings, Clarence, Harold, Anna and George and a great-granddaughter, Grace Hope.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 7, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. An additional viewing will be held on Friday, April 8, from 10 to 11 am, at the Bergstrasse Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9 Hahnstown Road, Ephrata. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at the church by the Eastern Star Cloister Chapter #406 O.E.S. at 10:50 am, followed by funeral services at 11 am, with Rev. Herbert A. Lohr officiating. Interment will take place in the Bergstrasse Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Naomi's memory may be made to the Bergstrasse Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9 Hahnstown Rd., Ephrata, PA 17522.
