Geraldine "Gerry" Saxion Bush, 98, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at her residence.

She was born in Bellefonte to the late Edward and Ruth (Benner) Saxion and was the wife of the late Charles W. Bush, who died on 12/30/00, after 57 years of marriage.

She was a member of the Christian faith, attended First United Methodist Church of Ephrata, until her health prevented it. Gerry was a "Professional Mom" who loved taking care of her family and friends. She dearly loved people and saw strangers as potential friends. Her mission in life was to help others and her love and kindness were non-discriminatory.

Geraldine is survived by daughter, Melby S. Bush of Ephrata; sister, Lois, wife of Frances N. Fry of Dallas; brother in law, Thomas Roush of State College.

In addition to her parents and husband, Geraldine is preceded in death by 2 brothers, William and Joseph Saxion; 2 sisters, Ruth Bryson and Anne Roush.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at the Pine Hall Cemetery in State College.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Gerry by practicing random acts of kindness, a lesson she desperately tried to teach during her 98 years.
