David Lee Adams, 35, of Drums, PA, son of Samuel and Sandy (Hevener) Adams and brother to Samuel Eric Adams, was fatally injured in an accident on Saturday, November 7, 2015 near his home.
David graduated in 1998 from Warwick High School, Lititz, PA and was a key competitor on the varsity track and cross country teams. His grandparents John and Jeanene Hevener enjoyed watching him run.
Inspired by his grandfather, Samuel Aaron Adams, Davey became an accomplished bowler and has a perfect game, 800 series and many 700 series scores to his credit. He bowled in the Dutch Lanes Commercial League. Just last Thursday he scored 700 after driving from his home near Hazleton, to substitute. The next morning he was back in New Jersey on the job site.
David loved to hunt with his brother Eric, his father Sam, his Uncle Mike Adams and his great friend Nate Price. Two weeks ago, during archery season, he and Nate helped Eric find a deer he had shot. It was on the other side of a deep creek. It was 40 degrees that day. They laughed as Eric stripped down and jumped in the cold water, to swim across and back with his deer. It was a great day.
David watched and followed sports. He enjoyed the annual trip to a Penn State football game with his grandmother, Audrey Adams, and his Aunt Kim Zepp. It was a perfect opportunity for him to see his cousin Katherine Adams who is a senior at Penn State main campus.
David enjoyed rounds of golf with his brother and had many friends who shared his love of golf. Lebanon Valley Golf Course was a favorite of his.
David Adams was a firearms and shooting enthusiast. Brad Baxter, Mitch Evans, and Marty Flegal, were among the friends who enjoyed this hobby with him. He will also be missed by his great and forever friends, Justin Wendel, Christian Stief and many more.
David was proud to be the uncle of five year old Lukas Adams, son of his brother, Eric and wife Kristen. He was also endeared by Nate Price’s children, Trenton and Alia who called him “Uncle Davey.”
He and his cousin, James Doutrich, had a lifelong connection. They grew up together. Stories of their adventures tell of a special bond.
David was ambitious in his career as a journeyman electrician. He was recently recognized for his outstanding performance with a promotion to electrical foreman at Power Secure, Wake Forest, NC. The company provides energy technologies and services to electric utilities, commercial, industrial and government facilities throughout the country.
David Adams was an amazing and fun person who loved life and lived to the fullest. He loved his friends and family and they loved him.
The family now asks those who knew him to remember David in your thoughts and prayers and to honor his memory with acts of kindness.
