Veona Arlene Grant, 91, of Manheim, formerly of Ephrata, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Pleasant View Retirement Community.
She was born in Stevens to the late Elwood and Ida (Miller) Tothero, and was the wife of the late Earl E. Grant, Jr., who died in April 2014.
She was a member of the Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, Denver, where she was very active for many years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and especially enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her.
Veona worked in the packaging department of Quinlan's Pretzels, Denver for 25 years prior to her retirement in 1986.
Veona is survived by a son, Michael E., husband of Wanda (Hertzog) Grant of Denver; 2 daughters, Sherralynne G. Garman of Stevens, and Karen E., wife of Terry L. Good of Ephrata; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lester and Leon Tothero; and a sister, Beatrice Fultz.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2015, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Peter Schwabe-Fry officiating. Interment will take place in the Muddy Creek Cemetery, East Cocalico Township.
