The Strong and Fatherly Trooper

My name is Paula Scheib.  I know you don't know me, but I wanted to let you know what a positive impact he had on my life.  In 1989, my senior year in high school, he was assigned to my case.  I was only 17 so he did his best to encourage and reassure me I would be strong enough to make it though.  He kept in close contact with my mother and I every step of the way.  He gave me his card and told me I could call him if things ever got too much for me to handle.  He took the time to talk to me several times.  On my graduation day he called to say he had a gift for me - the guy was caught.  He said he was sorry he couldn't tell me in person like he wanted to.  He then told me he was proud I made it to that day (he knew I was scared to even leave the house, going to school was rough for me) and that I should enjoy the evening.  He treated me like a father would treat his own daughter, which meant a lot to me since I didn't know my father.  I know the reason for meeting him wasn't a good one, but the impact he had on my life was.  I will never forget him.  Thank you for allowing me to share this with you.  God bless.
