Obituary for Robert M. Roggenburg

Robert M.  Roggenburg
Robert M. Roggenburg, 84, of Denver, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.

He was born in Great Kills, Staten Island, NY, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Roggenburg, was the husband of Carole (Krick) Roggenburg.

Robert was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He was a graduate of St. Clair’s Grammar School and St. Peter’s High School, Staten Island in 1949. He had been employed at Teletone Radio Corporation when he was inducted into the Marine Corp, serving his country during the Korean War. When he returned from the service, he worked for Westinghouse for 22 years and was promoted to engineer. After his retirement from Westinghouse, Robert purchased Dutch Cousins Campground in Denver and was the owner/operator for 23 years before he retired.

During his time in Lancaster County, he served in East Cocalico Township as chairman of the planning commission for 8 years and as judge of elections for 21 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a niece, Karen Tercasio of Andes, NY and a nephew, Curtis, husband of Mary Ann Olsen of Denver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy E. (Knight) Roggenburg; 2 sisters, Edna Greco, Rosemary Olsen and a brother, Joseph Roggenburg.

The Rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 5, at 6 pm, at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver, followed by a viewing from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 6, at 11 am, at Our Mother Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 320 Church Ave., Ephrata, with the Rev. Father John McLoughlin, C.SS.R. and the Rev. Father Paul Bryan, C.SS.R. as celebrants. Final Commendation and Farewell will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert's memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care, P. O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
