He taught me everything I knew as a mechanic

I worked with Lester at Penn Dairies before it closed in 2005 and then I retired also.  I was only 22 years old when I started working with Les and he gave me the name "the kid" .  I worked beside him and with him for many years repairing the milk processing machines at the dairy.  He could fix anything or figure out how to fix something.  He was the smartest and best mechanic I have ever known.  After he retired, the plant machines were never fixed like it was when Les was there.  He taught me so much that yes it did make a difference and impact on my working life and career at Penn Dairies.  I missed him alot after he retired but I never forgot what I learned from him.  When I saw the write up in the newspaper this week with his picture and write up about his death ...alot of times and years together ran thru my mind.  I turned to my wife and said "I learned everything I knew from Les, I wonder if he ever knew how much I carried what I did in life back to days when we worked together.?" "He taught me everything I knew as a mechaic"  I am so glad I got to work with Les and he is somebody I never forgot.  He was such a good teacher and to this day I will never forget what I learned from him.  He lived a long and full life and for that I am at peace knowing he touced not only my life but all who ever met him.  Sincerely, Larry E. Ruth
