David H. Weiler, 88, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Ephrata, passed away after declining health on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the Springwood Center in Sarasota, FL.

He was born January 11, 1927, in Earl Twp. He was the son of Abram and Susanna (Hoover) Weiler and was the husband of the late Anna (Zimmerman) Weiler, who passed away on October 2, 2001.

He was a member of the Bahia Vista Church in Sarasota, FL.

David was a self-employed farmer in West Cocalico Twp. He also sold feed supplements for McNess Co. for many years.

David is survived by 5 sons, David L., husband of Edna (Zimmerman) Weiler of Bloomfield, IA, Noah W. Weiler of Sarasota, FL, Harold L., husband of Sharlene (Martin) Weiler of Landisville, Irvin W., husband of Diane (Klick) Weiler of Richland, Sidney, husband of Ruth (Landis) Weiler of Sarasota, FL; 22 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Eli, husband of Ellen (Wenger) Weiler of Ephrata.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Holley Weiler, and a brother, Paul Weiler.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, from 6 to 8 pm at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. 9th St., Akron. A graveside service and interment will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at 10:30 am, at the Springville Mennonite Church Cemetery in Ephrata Twp., with Reverends Melvin Horst, Jr. and John Martin officiating.
