Charles Earl Piepgrass, 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 15, 2015, after a long illness. His wife of 67 years, Arlene (Sauder) Piepgrass, and his children were at his side.

Charles was born in St. Louis, MO, on March 1, 1925, the oldest child of Charles and Lona Piepgrass. He graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and received his Masters and Doctoral degrees in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Charles was assistant pastor of Calvary Church under Dr. Frank Torrey beginning in 1948. He then served with UFM/Crossworld from 1950 until 1991. For the first 14 years, he trained pastors at the Bible School in Port au Prince, Haiti. Subsequently, he was appointed associate director of the international mission. In 1991, he retired to Calvary Fellowship Homes where he served the community by teaching Bible classes.

Charles and Arlene Piepgrass have three children, Dr. William C. Piepgrass, husband of Marcia Piepgrass, of Lancaster, PA; Rebecca Jean Cooke, wife of James Cooke, of McLean, VA, and Mary Alice Patterson, wife of Robert Patterson, of Leesburg, VA; nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Charles is also survived by three sisters: Virginia Piepgrass Loptson of Willow Street, PA, Marilyn Piepgrass Mayers of Fort Myers, FL, and Patsy Piepgrass Sasscer of Penney Farms, FL.

A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, PA, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, with Dr. Michael A. Rogers officiating. Family will receive guests at 10 a.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
