Kevin Scott Smoker, 53, of Reinholds, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.
He was born in Ephrata to Earl F. and Vera (Bollinger) Smoker of Stevens and was the husband of Carol (Weaver) Smoker, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.
Kevin was a graduate of the Ephrata High School class of 1979. He attended the Ephrata Community Church and was a former pastor at the Blainsport Mennonite Church in Reinholds. Kevin worked as the shop manager of the Planter Division for Binkley and Hurst Bros. In his earlier years he was a member of the Ephrata Area Young Farmers. Kevin enjoyed visiting his cabin in Lycoming County, hunting, farming, and especially spending time with his family and being a loving grandfather.
In addition to his parents and wife, Kevin is survived by four children, Tonya, wife of Anthony Martin of Akron, Brent, husband of Valerie (Gehman) Smoker of Ephrata, Valerie, wife of Ralph Honigmann of Robesonia, and Jennifer at home, fiance` of Alex Abrams; two grandchildren, Vance and Reese Honigmann; and three siblings, Jay, husband of Amy (VonGlan) Smoker of Hopeland, Charlene, wife of Larry Shreiner of Narvon, and Marlin, husband of Linda (Sensenig) Smoker of Ephrata.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at 2:00 pm, at the Ephrata Community Church, 70 Clay School Road, Ephrata, with Pastor Kevin Eshelman officiating, followed by a reception at the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
