Obituary for Goldena "Goldie" N. Houtz

Goldena "Goldie" N. Houtz, 89, of Lititz, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Colonial Lodge Retirement Community, Denver.

She was born in Manheim Township to the late Daniel and Maude N. (Plank) Ressler and was the wife of the late Harry R. Houtz who passed away in 1989.

Goldie worked as a floor lady at the former Shoreson Company in Brownstown. She enjoyed crafts, doing yard work and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by 2 step-sons, Kenneth, husband of Judy Houtz of Goshen, IN, Richard, husband of Sandy Houtz of Newark, DE; 2 step-daughters, Barbara, wife of Joe Smith of Lancaster, Donna, wife of Thomas Roth of Ephrata; 9 step-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Stella Houtz of Lititz.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, John, Paul, Daniel, Henry and Robert Ressler; 5 sisters, Anna Hoffman, Blanche Wenger, Maria Stover, Dorothy Stief and Gladys Ressler.

A viewing will be held on Friday, November 28, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 North 9th Street, Akron, followed by her funeral service at 11 a.m., with Rev. Walter S. Carter officiating. Interment will take place in the Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster
