Obituary for Harold M. Zimmerman

Harold M Zimmerman, age 87, of Ephrata, PA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Landis Homes, Lititz.

Harold was born on April 27, 1927, the son of the late Stephen and Stella (Martin) Zimmerman. He was married 67 years on October 4th to Verna (Hess) Zimmerman.

Harold was a member of Dove Westgate Church and very active in missions with a focus on Russia. He founded and was president of Home Fellowship Leaders International, was involved in Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship, and served on the board of Teen Challenge. Harold was one of the founders of the Jesus Festivals.

Harold was a businessman and president/owner of Zimmerman Industries. He invented the mobile concrete mixer and held other equipment related patents.

In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by five children, Myron Zimmerman, husband of Cathryn, of Needham, MA, Philip Zimmerman, husband of Julie, of Goshen, IN, Cynthia Martin, wife of Gerald, of Lancaster, PA, Joan Stoner, wife of Jerry, of Denver, PA and Fred Zimmerman, husband of Heather, of Richardson, TX; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a sister, Elaine Pierantoni of Bradenton, FL.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 4, from 6 to 8 pm, at Dove Westgate Church, 1755 W. Main St., Ephrata. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 5, at 11 am at Dove Westgate Church, with Pastor Deryl Hurst officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held Wednesday, November 5, at 9 am in Metzler's Mennonite Cemetery.
