Obituary for Isaac W. Martin

Isaac W. Martin, 82, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in New Holland to the late Isaac and Ada Weaver Martin Seible and was the husband of Nora Z. (Sensenig) Martin.

Isaac was a member of the Shiloh Mennonite Church. In his early years he worked as a farmer and later he was the owner/operator of various business ventures in generator manufacturing and ice manufacturing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 8 children, Glenda M., wife of Leon R. Weaver of Stevens, Eugene S., husband of Rhoda Martin of Ephrata, Janet S., wife of Stanley Fox of Haiti, James L., husband of Rose Ann Martin of Akron, Charlene S. Mellinger of Ephrata, Isaac S., husband of Karla Martin of Newmanstown, Jerry S., husband of Carleen Martin of Ephrata, Randy S., husband of Jody Martin of Denver; 35 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Elmer, husband of Irene Martin of New Holland, Harlan, husband of Esther Martin of Latham, MO; 3 sisters, Arlene, wife of Allen Weaver of Quarryville, Mary, wife of the late John Nolt of Richland and Ada Mae, wife of Raymond Zimmerman of Peach Bottom.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Isaac Weaver, a brother, Paul Martin and 3 infant brothers.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 8, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Rd., Martindale. An additional viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 9, from 9 to 10 am, at the Martindale Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Rd., Martindale , followed by his funeral service at 10 am, with Pastors Matt Eberly and Mike Allgyer officiating. Interment will take place in the Martin Family Cemetery, East Earl Township.
