Obituary for Marie A. Sweigart (Mantyla)
Marie A. Sweigart, 73, of Ephrata, passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Lancaster General Hospital.
She was born in Richmond, VA to the late Uno and Marie H. (DiStefano) Mantyla and was the wife of Ronald L. Sweigart with whom she celebrated 55 years of marriage in April.
Marie was primarily a homemaker, but had worked at various sewing factories in the area. She also worked at Sweigart’s Steak Sandwich stand at the Ephrata and New Holland Fairs. She loved playing bingo, cooking, baking, playing on her computer and shopping.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 5 children, Deborah A. Sweigart, Tracey L. Sweigart, Ronald L. Sweigart, companion of Michelle Eanes, Scott L. Sweigart, Peggy S. Sweigart, all of Ephrata; 4 grandchildren, Jessica, Tyler, Cody and Nicholas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3brothers, Elmer Mantyla, Mike Mentzer and Ray Mentzer.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions in Marie's memory may be made to the Kidney Assoc. of Lancaster County, c/o LGH Health Campus, 2100 Harrisburg Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17604.
