Obituary for Irvine M. Good

Irvine M. Good, 91, of Lititz, formerly of Terre Hill, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at United Zion Home.

Born in Brecknock Township, he was the son of the late Elmer and Mary Catherine (Bender) Good and was the husband of the late Esther L. (Musser) Good, who passed away in 2003.

Irvine was a member of the Akron United Zion Church since 1945. He was a butcher and partner with his brother in Carl Good, Inc., until his retirement. Irvine enjoyed his grandchildren's sporting events, especially baseball and spending time with his family and friends.


He is survived by 3 sons, Donald Eugene, husband of Susan (Watson) Good of Ephrata, Bruce Edward, husband of the late Linda (Connor) Good of New Holland, Nevin Jay, husband of Deborah (Flora) Good of Annville; adopted children, Thang, Kim, John and Rosie Nguyen; 5 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren,7 step great grandchildren; a brother, Carl, husband of Emma (Shupp) Good of Denver and a sister Elizabeth, wife of Paul Freeman of Denver.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ray Lynn Good, who was killed in Vietnam; a brother, Roy E. Good and a sister, Lena Clark.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 6, at 3 p.m., at the Ephrata United Zion Church, 408 E. Fulton St., Ephrata, with Pastors Kenneth Redcay, Clyde Martin and Chaplain Ethan Levengood officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church social hall. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
