Obituary for Paul Nyul

Paul Nyul, 92, of New Holland, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012 at his home.

He was born in Hamilton Twp., Mercer Co., NJ to the late Paul and Anna (Sandor) Nyul, and was the husband of the late Olga (Kurak) Nyul. Paul and Ollie shared 48 years of marriage before her passing in 1995.

Paul served during WWII in the US Army in South America from 1942 to 1945. He and Ollie were married on April 5, 1947. In 1950, Paul graduated Valedictorian from the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). He received his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel in 1954. He worked 39 years for RCA, publishing multiple technical papers and received 14 patents before retiring in 1985. In his retirement, he completed coursework for a doctorate in Engineering Management. He was honored by MSOE for lifetime achievement in his field.

Paul is survived by his 3 children, Vicki, wife of Dr. Robert Owens of Schaefferstown, Terri, wife of Richard Whiteford of Downingtown, and Cdr. USNR Ret. Paul R. Nyul, husband of Debra Nyul of Ft. Worth, TX; 7 grandchildren, Sarah Owens of Holtwood, Colleen Owens of Missoula, MT; Ryan Owens of Olivehurst, CA, Adam Whiteford and Matthew Whiteford, both of Downingtown, Thomas Nyul and Robert Nyul, both of Fort Worth, TX; and 3 siblings, Goldie Posey of Largo, FL, Edward Nyul of Trenton, NJ, and Irene, wife of Richard Pinter of Trenton, NJ.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Whiteford, and 6 brothers.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, from 10 to 11 am, at the First Baptist Church, 612 N. Duke St., Lancaster, followed by his memorial service held at 11 am, with Rev. Richard S. Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the Northwood Cemetery, Downington, with full Military Honors.

Memorial contributions in Paul's memory may be made to St. Labre Indian School (stlabre.org), Boys Town (boystown.org) or Hospice of Lancaster County, P. O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
