Obituary for William H. "Bill" McMinn
William H. McMinn, 77, of Akron, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, at Harborview Rehab at Doylestown.
He was born in Quentin to the late Herbert I. and Margaret E. (Keener) McMinn and was the husband of Barbara B. (Bongart) McMinn with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.
He was a member of Quentin United Church of Christ.
Bill worked for Bethlehem Steel in Morgantown and Steelton splice bar plant. In earlier years, he played football for Cornwall High School and graduated in the class of 1960. He was a n avid Penn State and NASCAR fan. He loved to bake, make cheesecakes and candy.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by a sister, Catherine M., wife of Leonard Schott and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jane McMinn.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019, from 10 to 11 at the Quentin United Church of Christ, 11 E. Main Street, Quentin, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jessica Hainley officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
