Obituary for Timofey Guydik
Timofey Guydik, 97, of Ephrata, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020, at home.
Our father, grandfather and great grandfather was born in the village of Zumbrino, Primorskiy kray, on May 2, 1923, in the family of Fodor Vasilievich and Akulina Pavlovna Guydik. He was the fifth child of nine children in the family. He grew up in the village of Dushkino.
When he turned 18 WWII started, and he was drafted by the Army to serve on the front lines along with his 3 brothers. By distribution, he was enlisted in Far East Shock Army to serve near Stalingrad. He was wounded in the first year of service and was hospitalized. After recuperating, he was sent to tank school to study being a radio operator, after which he served in breakthrough regiment. He participated in the Belorussian Strategic Offensive Operation. Passing through the Belorussian swamps, he reached Romania. The tank division was defeated near the city of Yassy, but he remained alive among not many. He was once again wounded, but this time, the wound was bad enough that it landed him in a hospital for a year. Unable to go back to the front lines due to this injury, he was then sent to defend oil in city of Baku. His mother had received a letter from the government stating that he had perished in the war. She was advised by her friends in the village to light a candle for his afterlife, but she refused, stating that she knows that her son is alive. She was right, all her sons came back home alive.
He had met our mom Zhenya while serving in Baku, married her, and brought her back to the village of Dushkino with him. They had 4 children together: Zinaida, Valentina, Natasha and Andrey. As life continued on, he accepted a job as a general manager of a local store in the village of Dushkino. After that, he worked as an electrician on a high voltage line. As years passed, first our mom and then he, accepted our Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. He experienced humiliation and defamation by his peers and his relatives after this important step, but stayed loyal to God. He wanted to be closer to the church, therefore, he moved his family to the city of Nakhodka. He was greedy and insatiable for the word of God, therefore he preached everywhere, be that it was on a street or in his own house.
After our mom died, he married once again. Along with his wife Galina, her daughter Elena and her family, he followed his children to America where he was a member of a local church. He is survived by his sister Vera and her family, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was an avid fisherman, gardener and absolutely adored outdoors. He loved and prayed for each one of us. He had remained a faithful Christian until his last breath. As it says in the scripture: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7. This was always his favorite verse.
Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in the Mt. Zion Evangelical Cemetery.

Когда ему было 18 лет, началась Вторая Мировая Война, папу и его 3 брата призвали на фронт. По распределению, он был зачислен в Дальневосточную Ударную Армию служить под Сталинградом. В первом году службы, он был ранен и лежал в госпитале. После этого, его отправили в танковую школу учится на радиста, после чего он служил в полку прорыва. Он участвовал в Белорусской Стратегической Наступательной Операции. Проходя через Белорусские болота, он дошёл до Румынии. Танковая дивизия была разбита, но он остался жив среди не многих, и повторно, но уже тяжело, был ранен под городом Яссы. Он лежал в госпитале целый год, после чего был отправлен в тыл в г. Баку охранять нефть. Его мать получила похоронное письмо в котором сообщалось что он погиб. Многие советовали ей поставить свечку за него, но она отказалась, сказав что её сын жив, и была права. Все сыновья вернулись домой живыми. Домой он вернулся уже женатым на нашей маме Жене, которую он встретил в Баку. Они переехали в с. Душкино. В этом союзе у них родилось четверо детей: Зинаида, Валентина, Наталия и Андрей. Жизнь стала налаживаться и он принял должность завмага в д. Душкино. После этого, он работал электромонтажником по высоковольтной линии. После больших колебаний, сначала мама а потом и он, стали служить Господу. Потерпев унижение и поношенее со стороны сельчан и родни, и оставшись верен Богу, он переехал с семьёй в г. Находку где он мог быть ближе к церкви. В ревности своей, он всегда проповедовал нашего Иисуса Христа, было ли это на улице или в его доме. В Находке он женился второй раз после того как умерла наша мама. В след за детьми, с женой Галиной и дочерью Леной и её семьёй, он иммигрировал в Америку. Он был членом местной церкви и оставил сестру Веру и её семью , 12 внуков и 10 правнуков после себя. Он был заядлый рыбак, огородник и очень любил природу. Он любил и молился за каждого из нас. Он остался верным Христианином , как написано в Писании: “Подвигом добрым подвизался, течение совершил, веру сохранил". 2 Тим 4:7. Это был его самый любимый стих из Библии.
