Obituary for Thomas S. Lerch

Thomas John Lerch, 82, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Nazareth to the late John Elmer and Theresa (Schrammel) Lerch and was the husband of Beverly M. (Maurer) Lerch with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.

Thomas was a maintenance foreman for Met-Ed, Titus Generating Station. He previously worked for Berks Youth Center, Redners Quick Stop and Walmart. He studied English at Moravian College, where wrestled and made the first pin for the college. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing card games. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved going to casinos.

In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by six children, Mark Lerch of Allentown, Gaye Wilson of Rhode Island, Florice Termini of Allentown, Jennie Falcone of Easton, David Mosella of Severn, MD, Matthew Lerch of Richland; 17 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Russel Lerch of Nazareth and sister, Joanne Wellbrook of Las Vegas.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Thomas' memory may be made to a local library or animal shelter of your choice.
