Obituary for Thomas A. Fry
Thomas A. Fry, 80, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Lancaster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Ephrata to the late John Z. and Iris H. (Rice) Fry.
During his working years, Thomas worked as a union crane operator for PPL. He was a 1961 graduate of Ephrata High School. After being drafted into the U.S. Army, serving from 1965 to 1967, Thomas was military police stationed in Germany, guarding the first nuclear missiles. He was an avid bowler and fan of billiards.
Thomas is survived by a daughter, Stephanie, wife of Fred; six grandchildren; four siblings, Ellen Witmer, Martha, wife of Willis Witmer, Timothy, husband of Diane Fry and Philip, husband of Nancy Fry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Fry; two brothers, John Fry and Randy Fry.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 1 to 2 PM at Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Avenue, Ephrata, followed by his funeral service at 2 PM. Interment will take place in the Hahnstown United Zion Cemetery.
