Obituary for Thomas W. Cahill Sr.
Rev. Thomas W. Cahill, Sr., 81, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at home.
He was born in Somerset County to the late William James and Margery Virginia (Hall) Cahill and was the husband of Beverly J. (Marsh) Cahill.
He was a member of Lancaster Church of the Nazarene.
Thomas was a minister. He enjoyed writing poetry and recently published Streams of Grace: Flowing Through Spirit Inspired Poetry.
In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by four children, Lori J. Cahill Stanley, Melinda Joy Cahill Cox, Rev. Thomas W. Cahill, Jr., Wendy Mae Cahill Clouse; two step-children, Kenneth Detweiler, Bonnie Detweiler Farrington; 17 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four siblings, John Cahill, William Cahill, Michael Cahill and Margery (Cahill) Carey; two half siblings, and one step sibling.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Verna L. (Milliken) Cahill in 2016.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022, from 4 to 6 PM at Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. Ninth Street, Akron. An additional viewing will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Lancaster Church of the Nazarene, 2150 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA, followed by funeral services at 10:30 AM with Pastor Mark Justice officiating. The service will also be streamed live through the church's Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/lancasternaz, and then replayed on their YouTube channel. Interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Thomas' memory may be made to Stradling Funeral Homes, PO Box 92, Ephrata, PA 17522 to assist the family with expenses.
