Obituary for Thomas Taylor "Tom" Bluett Jr.

Thomas Taylor Bluett, Jr., 79, of Ephrata, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Philadelphia to the late Thomas T. Bluett, Sr. and Regina (Slanga) Bluett and was the husband of the late Carolyn S. (Jarvis) Bluett who passed away in 2018.

Tom was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was also an electrician retiring from APS Electric, Phoenix, AZ, and previously worked for IBEW local 126, Blue Bell. He enjoyed tinkering around his home, Opera music, and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. Tom especially enjoyed spending time with his family, moving back from Arizona in 2006 to be closer to them. He cherished dogs, and was loving, generous and charitable, donating to various organizations.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Florence Dawn Clohecy of Palmerton, PA; his son, Thomas T. Bluett, III of Ephrata; nine grandchildren, Thomas Bluett, IV, Bruce Bluett, Laura Bluett, Marie Bluett, Daniel, husband of Josephine Bluett, Rita Bluett, Stephanie Polowczuk, Sarah Polowczuk, Samantha Polowczuk; two great-grandchildren, James Bluett, Madelyn Polowczuk; two nephews, Joshua Davis, John Davis and a sister, Patricia, wife of John Davis.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Rose Bluett, Steven Polowczuk, and two sons-in-law, Steven Polowczuk, and Frederick Clohecy.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, 12:00 PM, at the Forest Hills Cemetery, Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, with Mr. John Davis officiating. Military honors will be rendered.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tom's memory may be made to the Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center, 848 S. Prince Street, Lancaster, PA 17603.
