Obituary for Ruth Lausch (Enck)

Ruth Lausch, 86, of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Ephrata Manor.

She was born in Hopeland to the late Harvey and Edna (Krisher) Enck and was the wife of Ray K. Lausch with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.

She was a member of Hopeland United Methodist Church, where she played the organ for over 40 years, taught Sunday School and Bible School and was active in UM Women. She was also on the administrative council and served on various church committees throughout the years.

Ruth was a supervisor for Hopeland Mfg. Co. before retiring and previously worked in the office of Stunzi Silk Mill. She was a member of Ephrata Christian Women. She enjoyed going to the beach, gardening, sewing, baking, playing piano and in her early years, enjoyed musical jam sessions with her brothers-in-law.

In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by four children, Stephanie A., wife of Robert Hoffman of Akron, Anthony R. Lausch of Ephrata, D. Scott, husband of Loretta (Webb) Lausch of Worcester, PA, Susan M. Lausch of Alexandria, VA; four grandchildren, Elliot Hoffman, Eric Hoffman, John Scott Lausch, Matthew James Lausch and a great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Hoffman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Carl, Rena, Vera, Vena and Alma Enck.

A visitation will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 10 to 11 AM at the Donecker Chapel at Ephrata Manor, 99 Bethany Road, Ephrata, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Russ Eberly officiating. Interment will be private at Hopeland Cemetery.
