Obituary for Robert Michael Weitzel
Robert Michael Weitzel, 69, of Denver, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
He was born in Ephrata, son of Martha E. (Capwell) Weitzel and the late Robert R. Weitzel and was the husband of the late Susan E. (Jones) Weitzel who passed away in 2022.
Mike was a graduate of Cocalico Class of '72, where he was a top-notch wrestler, earning many medals and trophies. He was an avid dirt track and racing fan and a huge Denver Broncos fan. He loved his animals "fur babies" and was a social butterfly who could make friends with anyone.
He worked as an auto salesman for Bobby Gerhart's Truck World for many years prior to his retirement.
In addition to his mother, Robert is survived by 2 stepchildren, Stephanie L. McKinney and Shawn D. McKinney, step-grandson, Chase L. Brumbach, step-great-grandson, Logan Brumbach, a brother, Randy Weitzel, several nephews and a niece.
In addition to his father and wife, he was preceded in death by daughter, Alexandra Weitzel, and brother, Scott Weitzel.
Services are private at the family's convenience.
