Obituary for Richard Eugene Renninger

Richard Eugene Renninger, 87, of Akron, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Lebanon VA Medical Center.

He was born in Ephrata to the late Robert and Irene (Leisey) Renninger and was the husband of Shirley (Strohl) Renninger with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.

Richard was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Walter M. Strohl prior to his retirement.

Richard was a member of Akron United Zion Church, a lifetime member of VFW, Legion, and NRA. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to watch Western movies and old classic films.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by 3 children, Cindy, wife of Jay Beamesderfer, Connie, wife of Timothy Leeper, and Coby Renninger, husband of Anita; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters.

Services are private at the convenience of the family.
