Obituary for Reuben Charles Getz
Reuben C. Getz, 79, of Robesonia, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Reading Hospital-Tower Health.
He was born in Akron to the late Reuben G. and Lillian (Bartsch) Getz.
Reuben attended Cocalico Union High School. He was a member of NRA, PA Farm Bureau, and an honorary member of the PA Sheriff's Assoc. He was a dairy farmer his whole life and really enjoyed working in the fields. His love for farming started at a young age when he would be busy "farming" in the garden with toy tractors and other toy farm equipment. Even at that young age his favorite tractor was an orange one which continued to be his favorite color throughout his lifetime. He also had an affinity for animals, large and small. He was easy prey for any animal who was looking for kindness and caring.
Reuben is survived by sister, Lorraine M. Getz, and brother, Russell B. Getz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Ray Eugene Getz.
A graveside service will be held, for friends and family, on Thursday, August 17, 2023, 11:00 am at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Reuben's memory may be made to Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
