Obituary for Phillip R. Dobb
Phillip Raymond Dobb, Denver, PA, age 80, joined his loving wife, Holly, in eternity on April 4, 2023, in Lancaster, PA.
He was born February 15, 1943, in Muskegon, MI, to the late Raymond and Gertrude (Willis) Dobb. He was a proud Michigan State Alumni, graduating in 1964. Phil married Holly Cook in 1962 in Michigan where they built a family while relocating several times across the country before settling in PA.
Phil worked many years in the trucking industry, serving as Senior VP of Trans Con Trucking until the late 1980s. He later went to work for Kitchens Plus in Ephrata, where he retired as a designer in 2019. Phil and Holly enjoyed traveling the world and going on cruises until Holly’s death in 2015. Their last cruise was to Alaska for their 50th wedding anniversary in 2012.
His legacy includes four children, Kim (Greg) Wilson, Jodi (Ed) Winfindale, Traci (Paul) Kornfeld and Marc Dobb (formerly married to Marie Scheel). Phil thoroughly enjoyed his 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, especially if it involved their sporting events.
He loved Southern Gospel music, attending concerts in the park, and watching any kind of sports, most of all Michigan teams. His loss leaves a huge hole in the large family he and Holly created, but knowing they are reunited offers great comfort.
A memorial celebration will be planned at a later date at the convenience of the family.
