Obituary for Neita J. Welsh
Neita J. Welsh, 80, of Manheim, was called to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was born in Braddock to the late Eugene and Vivian (Irwin) Hubacher and was the wife of Glenn C. Welsh, her high school sweetheart, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. She grew up in East McKeesport and often said that she had a wonderful childhood. Glenn and Neita later moved to Bucks County, raising their family and later retiring to Lancaster County. Neita worked in hospice for many years, helping others pass peacefully into Heaven. She was a social butterfly and talked to everyone she encountered. She would often offer, or insist on, praying for those she knew and even strangers that she came across in her travels. Neita was a true prayer warrior for many.
In addition to her husband, Neita is survived by 3 children, Curtis Welsh (his wife, Jeannette), Pamela Pignatelli (her husband, James) and Brian Welsh (his wife Laurie); 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Shawn, Spencer (his wife, Rachael), Jonathan (his wife, Alexandria), Nicholas (his wife, Mia), Jessica (her husband, Andrew), Jordan, Jacob, Jianna, and Jorja; a great-grandson, Jaivion; 2 sisters, Donna Zimmerman and Sally Blend.
She was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Netta, who died two days after their birth.
A visitation will be held on April 29, 2023, from 11:30 to 12:15 at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata. A memorial service will follow. Interment will take place in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Neita's name to Mt. Hope Nazarene Retirement Home, 3026 Mount Hope Home Rd., Manheim, PA 17545.
