Obituary for Michael Stuart McGlashon
Michael Stuart McGlashon, 61, of Denver, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 25th, 2019, at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, Fredricksburg, VA, following a massive heart attack which he suffered a week prior.
Michael (or “Mike” as his friends and family called him) was born on July 26th, 1958 to Richard and Janice (Bradley) McGlashon in Columbia, MO. He was the husband of Tammy L. (Sauder) McGlashon, with whom he spent the past 20 years of his life.
He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Denver, PA.
Mike worked as a territory manager for Lennox Industries, a devoted employee of more than 30 years. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his family, vacationing on tropical beaches and boating, hanging out by his backyard pool, and playing with his dog Bozwell.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mike is survived by his daughter Emily, wife of Ryan Sowers of Hatfield, PA, his son Jacob, husband of Jenny McGlashon of Vestal, NY, his step-daughter Lindsey Kern of Denver, PA, his step-son Dalton Kern of Hubert, NC, and his five grandchildren: Marie and William Sowers, Lily and Isabel McGlashon, and Julian Kern. Also surviving is his sister Jill, wife if Jeff Bush of Jackson, WY.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Danielle Christine McGlashon, who passed in June of 2014.
A gathering to celebrate Mike’s life will be held on Saturday, August 31st at 2PM in the Peace United Church of Christ (37 East Swartzville Road, Denver, PA) with Pastor Bradley Haws officiating. A private interment ceremony will take place in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Mike’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, Lancaster Division (4250 Crums Mill Road, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17112).
